It looks like we have our plan in place. I am probably going to make a visa run tomorrow night (Tuesday May 23) and be back the following day. Val is heading off to Bangkok on May 26 or 27 to pick up a Fed-Ex package, drop off some excess baggage, and then hop on a plane to Laos.

I will be staying on Ko Tao until around June 16th when I will head north to Bangkok, drop off my scuba gear, and then head for Siem Reap, Cambodia where we will meet back up and finish our travels in SE Asia.

While we're separated, I'm going to try and badger Val into sending me journal entries of her adventures, while I continue to update mine here on the island. Hers will likely be more interesting since most of mine will be about teaching here on the island (not very exciting). I'll try and separate them out in a way to make it clear when people visit the home page so they can quickly go to either of them without having to surf through the calendars too much. No promises, but I'll see what I can do.

This will give me a chance to see if teaching in a remote tropic location is something I really want to do, but will allow Val to see parts of SE Asia that she really doesn't want to miss. It will be strange not traveling together. I haven't done it in a VERY long time, and I don't know that she has ever really done it. But hey, it's what this adventure is all about. Trying new things and seeing stuff you never thought existed.

We'll keep you all posted as to how this goes. Once it's finished though, we have booked ourselves for 10 days at an all-inclusive resort in the Maldives. There is beautiful snorkeling right in front of the resort and its off-season so there will be no crowds. It will be like having a vacation in the middle of our travels:)

That's it for now,

Eric and Val
