Tomorrow morning we will board a ferry to cross the Red Sea over to the Sinai Peninsula and the town of Sharm El-Shiek. We will then jump on a bus to Dahab where we will be for about a week.

Our last few days here in Hurghada have been very fun. I finished my diving up on Saturday, but we went back on the boat yesterday and both spent the day snorkeling. Again, the dolphins came to visit us! While on the boat, there was a couple from Denmark, Pia & Anders who snorkeled each day. Anders is an incredible free-diver and was able to get very close to the dolphins and took some beautiful photographs. He was kind enough to share them with me, so I have posted several of them here. I also managed to get a few good photos underwater and have added them to the site as well.

My last day of diving, Saturday, one of the owners of the operation was on the boat, and we dove together. It was a fun day. Bert has been diving for over 30 years. When he first began, they had to make their own wetsuits out of pieces of neoprene. Things have certainly changed a lot since then:) Besides the day boats that go out of Hurghada, they also have a live-aboard (safari) boat that does week-long trips out away from Hurghada into remote regions where the reefs are very pristine and undamaged by tourists who don't understand that standing on them, kills them! We spoke to him about the trips, and we may begin plans to charter a boat sometime next year. We'll have to see how things go when we return.

Today is our last day here and we plan to spend it doing some research on the next phase of the trip. Currently we are scheduled to fly into Barcelona, but we have been reading up on this and the city is very expensive! Our original plan was to fly there and then take the train and ferry to Morocco for a while and then back to Barcelona. We are going to look into changing our flight directly to Morocco, or even some other city in Europe and then seeing how we can arrange things to get back to Barcelona. Lots of options, but only a short amount of time to work it out! The fun of traveling:)

Until next time,

Eric
