We arrived in Chodova Plana last night and are staying at a hotel attached to the brewery of the same name. One of the unique things this place offers are beer spas. Oh yes, we had to take part in this! Val and I took a soak in a shared tub while our friend Ken had his own private tub. The tub is filled with a mix of hot water and beer. It was amazing! They also offer cold beer while you are in it. This is something you would never see in America, but it was very popular here.

We also had massages while we were there. As rough as Val's was, mine was the total opposite. It was more like a back rub than a massage. Oh well, I guess this balances the Thai massages we received in Thailand.

After the spa and massages, we headed over to the brewery for the tour. It was one of the best I have ever taken. They malt their grain on the premises and we were taken into the malting room where there was some in the process while we were there. I have never seen this before as most breweries simply but their grain pre-malted, or do it off site. It was fun to see and added to a very interesting tour.

So now we are headed off to Bamberg, Germany. A Medevil City with nearly a dozen brewery/beerhalls in town. We're looking forward to a new country and a new town, but the respite in Chodova Plana was certainly an unexpected treat.
